Please find attached the Bible study outline on Living with an understanding of Bible Prophecies which is the next study in our Quarter Series: Living out our faith – a study of the life of Daniel. The main text is Daniel 11:1-45 and the key learning points are as follows:

1. The events described in Daniel Chapter 11 and indeed most Bible prophecies are spiritual/foreshadowing events and not merely literal. The Spirit of God helps us to discern them. Dan 2:20,22
2. Bible Prophecies all point to God’s desire to recover Man for Himself. Dan 12:1
3. We should endeavor to discover The Life of Christ in Bible Prophecy and live in Christ to overcome the calamities often portrayed in prophecy and appropriate the blessings also contained therein.

I trust that this email finds you well.  Please find attached the outline for this Sunday’s Bible study, on “Understanding the Times and Seasons”.

Key Learning Points:

1.    Jesus reminds us that God’s kingdom cannot be observed visibly because it is “within” us. To “see” the Kingdom of God we must look within, and not on the external. Something must happen inside of us… a spiritual rebirth that ushers in the Christ-Life. That is the Kingdom of God. 

2.    Jesus warned that because men would one day long for the Messiah’s return, Satan will take advantage of this longing to raise false messiahs to deceive many. In understanding the times and rightly interpreting the seasons, we must be wary of this and rather focus on the Kingdom of God in us producing fruits.
 
3.    “Eating and drinking” reflects the notion of carefree living. But the sudden and dramatic description of the rapture shows that Christianity is an individual race which must be run with circumspection. To be ready when Jesus comes, we must wake up, cast off the works of darkness and put on Christ, i.e. live the Life of Christ.

The introductory notes to the 2022 quarter 1 sermon series fittingly reminds us that the dawn of a new year is a drawing closer of the coming of the Lord. And we need to live as those who are eagerly expecting that coming of the Lord (2 Peter 3:11). 

So, we start the year with a look at the Beatitudes. The goal is to help us understand the nature of kingdom blessing. This happens to be the opening topic of the quarter series. See attached outline for our reference.

Key learning points include:

1.      God never intended for us to labor, “toil and spin” to access the blessing of the Kingdom of God. He does not want us to go running after miracles but after Him.

2.      The divine blessing is an automatic right for every citizen of the Kingdom. We are joint heirs with Christ!

3.      Obedience to God is the only route to access divine blessing. Good works, prayer, fasting, tithing and other religious observances cannot replace obedience.

 As we step into 2022, may God grant grace to enable us to daily live conscious of how much closer Christ’s coming is.
