Good evening brothers and sisters,

I attach the Bible Study Outline for this coming Sunday on the topic Serving and Sacrificing in the Community.  This is the next study in our Quarter Series on Living a Life of Sacrifice and Service.  The main texts are Acts 2:42-47 and4:32-37.  The key learning points are as follows:

1.      God’s desire for all believers is that we be united. No superstars, no rich/poor, no VIPs, just unity, oneness, harmony, and agreement. With this, the world will know that God truly did send Jesus. (John 17:21, Acts 2:46-47)
2.      The life of a believer must be characterized by service and sacrifice. This reflects the life of Christ.
3.      When the church is focused on preaching the unadulterated Word of God, when their lives reflect God’s word in action (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, humility, etc), people will be drawn to the faith. (Acts 4:32-33).

Yours in His service

Good morning brothers and sisters,

Please find attached the Bible Study Outline for Sunday, November 17 on the topic “Serving God with our Resources.  This is the next study in our Quarter Series on Living a Life of Sacrifice and Service.  The main text is Genesis 18:1-8 and the key learning points are as follows:

1.      Showing hospitality to strangers, as Abraham did in Genesis 18, is an important way of serving God by meeting the needs of others who may not be able to pay us back (Gen 18:3-5)
2.      Believers are commanded to share their resources with those who have need and intentionally practice hospitality, giving of their best in so doing (Gen 18:6-7; Ro 12:12-13)
3.      As with all other service to God, we must show hospitality without grumbling and not let activity displace fellowship with Jesus (Gen 18:8, Lk 10:41-42, 1Pt 4:9)

Yours in His love and mine

Good evening Brothers and Sisters,

Please find attached the Bible Study Outline for Sunday 10 November on the topic: Serving each other as One Body in Christ.  This is the next topic in our Quarter’s theme on Living a life of sacrifice and service.  The main text is 1 Corinthians 12:4-26 and the key learning points are as follows:

1.      Our individual spiritual gifts and talents were given to us to serve each other in the Body of Christ (1 Cor 12:7)
2.      We are individuals, and our gifts vary (as do our personalities) but we are created to function as one Body in Christ ( 1Cor 12:12-20)
3.      Every believer has a spiritual gift from the Holy Spirit, and every gift, like everyone, matters.  Their gift is significant and needed for the Body to function. Discovering and using our gift to serve others is an act of love and a path to growth. (1Cor 12:21 -26; Romans 12:3-8)

Yours in His Service

Good day Brothers and Sisters,
Please find the next study in our Quarter Series theme “Living A Life Of Sacrifice and Service” attached.  The topic : Serving with Compassion and our text is Luke 10:25-37 which is the well known (but, perhaps, not as well understood) story of the Good Samaritan.  The key learning points are as follows:
  1. Knowing the truth, being an expert in the Word of God, and being of the “right” religious and social status do not, of themselves, lead to compassion or being of service to our neighbors.  Luke 10:25-27) The Samaritan’s compassion for a stranger and selfless service at great inconvenience and cost to himself, is in stark contrast to the religious expert who sought to “justify himself” and draw tight boundaries on who deserved to be a “neighbor”. (Luke 10: 29, 34-35)The Samaritan reminds us that our love should manifest in concrete actions that reflect the heart of Christ.  Serving with compassion does not ask “Who is my neighbor” but rather,  “Whose neighbor am I”. (Luke 10:36-37)
Yours in His service

Good Evening Brethren,

I trust that this email finds you well.

Attached is the outline for this Sunday’s Bible study, based on Matthew 25:31-46.

Key Learning Points:

1.    When Jesus comes again, He will sit on His Throne of glory and judge all nations, separating the “sheep” from the “goats”.

2.    Those who are declared righteous and who offer compassionate service towards the poor and needy, (“the sheep”), will be recognized and rewarded.

  • We who are in Christ are called to serve one another with love and compassion, even as we serve The Master, Jesus Christ.

3.    Those who are declared unrighteous, (“the goats”), will be condemned for their lack of service or care towards others.

  • We must not be surprised, but be ready for Jesus’ return, by being watchful, prayerful and not losing sense of God’s timing by doing the things He says we should while we still can.

Let us endeavour to do the works of the Master while it is still day, for the night cometh, when no man can work – John 9:4.

Have a blessed and restful weekend.
