Good Evening Brethren,

Please find attached, this Sunday’s Bible Study Outline on the topic, “The Season of the Lord’s Patience“.

I recall my days as a young Christian, being fired up about the Lord’s “imminent” return and telling anyone who would listen about the need for them to “clean up their act” so that they would make heaven. It’s been over 3 decades now, and at several points over the years, I found myself wondering why the Lord had not yet come. And then I happened upon this scripture in 2 Peter 3:1-18. It was then that I realized that while I thought I was waiting for God, He was actually waiting for me… to be a light in the darkness of this world, to win souls for Him, and to live out His life in my life.

The Key Learning Points from the passage are as follows:

  1. God’s patience should not be taken for granted. God is being patient to give us time to repent and align ourselves to His purposes (v. 8-9).
  2. Every day that God delays His coming is a window of opportunity for us to grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and become who HE wants us to be – His holy people. (v.10-13, 15, 18)
  3. Becoming who God wants us to be is not going to be achieved on the bed of indifference or unseriousness. Rather, it requires that we each do our very best to be pure and faultless in God’s sight, not in man’s sight. (v.14-16)

May the grace of God abound to us all and cause us to align our lives to His divine purpose in our last “few days” on this side of eternity, in Jesus Name, Amen.

Have a blessed evening!

Overcoming the Season of Lawlessness https://victoriafellowshipchurch.org/overcoming-the-season-of-lawlessness/ https://victoriafellowshipchurch.org/overcoming-the-season-of-lawlessness/#respond Sun, 03 Dec 2023 05:00:00 +0000 https://www.victoriafellowshipchurch.org/?p=1712 Read more…]]> Theme: The Urgency of the Last Days

Good Evening Brethren,

I trust that this meets you well. Please find attached the outline for this Sunday’s Bible study on “Overcoming the Season of Lawlessness” with scriptural reference taken from 2 Thessalonians 2:1-17.

This study, like others we have looked at in the past weeks, considers the events leading up to the Lord’s second coming and provides us with some reassurance on what to look out for as we anticipate the return of our Savior. The study has important takeaways for us Believers, as well as for those who are yet to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Key Learning Points:

  1. As Believers in Christ, we must not be alarmed or tripped by so-called spiritual revelations or visions concerning Jesus’s 2nd coming because we know the signs to look out for (V1-4).
  2. When the Antichrist emerges, those who have not received Jesus will come under a strong delusion and many will be deceived. It is therefore of utmost urgency that the unsaved accept the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ now so that they can overcome the season of lawlessness (V9-12).
  3. Believers are encouraged to stand firm in the Lord, hold fast to the teachings of Jesus and pray for God’s strength to continue in every good work, to overcome the season of lawlessness (V15-17).

May we do well to heed these words of encouragement, as we look forward to the return of our Lord with hopeful anticipation.

Regards and God Bless.

Understanding the Times and Seasons https://victoriafellowshipchurch.org/understanding-the-times-and-seasons/ https://victoriafellowshipchurch.org/understanding-the-times-and-seasons/#respond Sun, 05 Nov 2023 05:00:00 +0000 https://www.victoriafellowshipchurch.org/?p=1683 Read more…]]> Theme: The Urgency of the Last Days

Good Evening Brethren,

I trust that this email finds you well.  Please find attached the outline for this Sunday’s Bible study, on “Understanding the Times and Seasons”.

Key Learning Points:

1.    Jesus reminds us that God’s kingdom cannot be observed visibly because it is “within” us. To “see” the Kingdom of God we must look within, and not on the external. Something must happen inside of us… a spiritual rebirth that ushers in the Christ-Life. That is the Kingdom of God.

2.    Jesus warned that because men would one day long for the Messiah’s return, Satan will take advantage of this longing to raise false messiahs to deceive many. In understanding the times and rightly interpreting the seasons, we must be wary of this and rather focus on the Kingdom of God in us producing fruits.

3.    “Eating and drinking” reflects the notion of carefree living. But the sudden and dramatic description of the rapture shows that Christianity is an individual race which must be run with circumspection. To be ready when Jesus comes, we must wake up, cast off the works of darkness and put on Christ, i.e. live the Life of Christ.

Have a blessed and restful weekend!
