Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Please find attached the final study outline in our Quarter Series “the Foundation of the Christian Faith”.  The topic is “The Significance of Christ’s Resurrection”.  What better topic for the Sunday in which we remember that “Christ is Risen”!  The main texts are 1Corinthians 15:12-20 and John 11:25-27.  The key learning points are as follows:

1.     The resurrection of Jesus is at the core of the Christian faith.  Belief in the truth that Christ died and rose again assures the Christian that “though he may die, he shall surely live” – Jn11:25

2.     Christ’s resurrection validates and substantiates the Christian’s faith in Him – an empty tomb is there to prove it.

3.     To the Christian who is in a true relationship with Christ, is given, the power and grace to live a new life, free from the fear of death and from the sinful nature.

Happy Easter.

Like someone said, its Friday, but Sunday is coming. And this Sunday, the main issue on every believer’s mind and even non-believers, is the resurrection. That is what we will be exploring in our study.

Key Learning Points:

1. The resurrection of Jesus Christ was an actual physical raising of Jesus’ body from the dead. And apart from His disciples, scores of other people saw His resurrected body.
2. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is a key teaching of Scripture, and central to the gospel. 1 Corinthians 15:3b-4
3. The Christian’s hope of eternal life rests squarely on the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:14-19; 1 Peter 1:3; Romans 6:9

It is another Easter Season. And how fitting that our Bible Study this Sunday is looking at The Cross, The Resurrection and The Mission.

Key Learning Points:
1. The Cross is the ultimate symbol of love and of the fulfilment of God’s promise of salvation. The Romans and their Jewish co-conspirators wanted the cross to be the ultimate symbol of cruelty and shame. But God meant it to be the best imagery of His justice, mercy, love, and a constant reminder that by ourselves, no man can earn or merit salvation.
2. Without the resurrection, the life and death of Jesus would have been nothing more than the tragic and unjust death of an exceptionally good man. But with it Jesus was powerfully declared to be the Son of God who has power over life and death.
3. That Jesus died and rose from death, defeating sin, death, and hell, is the Good News of the Gospel. and preaching the good news to everyone is the one mission Christ gave His followers. So, we are not just called to salvation, but sent to people. It was this message that lay at the heart of the apostolic preaching.

1. Jesus’ resurrection is an essential part of God’s plan for salvation (1 Corinthians 15:4)
2. Jesus’ resurrection from death is an undeniable event in history to show us that death no longer has any power over any who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation.
3. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the type and pattern of the future we who believe in Him should expect
