Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Please see attached the final study in our Quarter Series on Living out our faith_A study of the life of Daniel.  The topic is entitled “Is your name in the Book of Life?” and the main text is Daniel 12:1-13.  The key learning points are:

1.    In the last days there will be a period of fearful persecution such as there has never been, but God will not leave us comfortless, and His people shall be delivered through it.  Daniel 12:1, Mathew 24:21-22
2.    All are destined to rise again into a body that will endure for all time.  The most important question in life is: where will we spend that eternity? Daniel 12:2, Hebrews 9:27
3.    Knowing the certainty of judgment, we should walk with wisdom in obedience to God striving to “turn many to righteousness” through our words and our walk. Daniel 12:3, Ephesians 5:15-16

Yours in His service

Good evening brothers and sisters,

Please see the final Bible Study Outline in our Quarter Series on Strengthening our Faith.  The topic is A Spirit Led Life and the main text is Romans 8:1-17.  The key learning points are:

1.    To lead a Spirit-led life is how we are delivered from the power of sin, how we learn to live a life that says “NO’ to the desires of my sinful nature, and “YES” to the things the Holy Spirit wants. V. 13.
2.    Living a Spirit-led life is not optional for those who belong to Christ. It is an obligation – v. 12.
3.    Though the Spirit empowers me, I have a part to play in leading a Spirit-led life

Yours in His love and mine

Brethren,

The Christian life is like the Israelites’ journey through the wilderness – they did not know the way and needed God to lead the way.

For us as followers of Jesus Christ, we also do not know the way, and so we need the Holy Spirit to lead us. That is what our Sunday study takes a look at under the topic: The Spirit-led Life.

Key Learnings:

  1. A Spirit-led life is regulated from within us instead of from external law and rules. One who is Spirit -led does not need external checks, balances, and penalties to do right.
  2. It is impossible to please God without submitting to a Spirit-led life because it is the Spirit of God who helps us to say no to our sinful desires (Romans 8:5-8, 12-13)
  3. The Spirit led life does not take away the believer’s responsibility (role) in sanctification. (Romans 8”12-14)

See attached outline for your further reference.

Let us walk in the Spirit.

Brethren,

How has your week been?

Our quarter series is getting more interesting. This time we are looking at the first Adam and the last Adam and what benefits, or otherwise each brought to humanity. This comparison and lessons thereon is so important for the CHristian life.

The key lessons are outlined in the attache study sheet are:

1. Sin and its death penalty came to us because of Adam’s genes in us, not because of any acts of disobedience to any commands of God.
2. Whereas sin and its consequences are the result of one man’s action, God’s gift of life through Christ is entirely an undeserved gift from God, available only to those who receive the gift. So, believers must internalize this truth and be motivated to help as many as possible to receive this gracious gift of God.
3. God’s grace through Christ did more than cancel out the consequences of Adam’s disobedience. It also secured our good standing and declaration of innocence before God.

See you in Church on Sunday.

Facing The Giants in Your Life https://victoriafellowshipchurch.org/facing-the-giants-in-your-life/ https://victoriafellowshipchurch.org/facing-the-giants-in-your-life/#respond Sun, 10 Jul 2022 05:00:00 +0000 https://www.victoriafellowshipchurch.org/?p=1260 Read more…]]> Theme: Lessons From The Life of David

Brethren,

The David and Goliath story is a popular one. I often imagine myself as the one slaying the mammoth of a man called Goliath! But then I wake up and discover it has all been a dream.

Our study today examines this much told encounter and draws lessons from David on how we too can triumph over the giants in our lives.

Key Learning points:
1. Look beyond the odds stacked against you. We should recognize and acknowledge that challenges exist but we should not be overawed by them.
2. The battle is not ours but God’s. In confronting the giants in our lives, we should be encouraged and strengthened by past victories the Lord had given us.
3. Act in faith in what you know and believe about God rather than what the odds say. To defeat our giants, we must put on the whole armor of God.

Brethren,

Happy New MOnth. I trust this meets you and your family well.

As you and I know, it is far easier to think about and talk about the brevity of our lives and our dependence on God than it is to live it. That is the issue we address this Sunday as we look at ‘Life and wealth in perspective’, as we continue our quarter series on Faith in Action.

Key Learnings points include:
1. Our lives are like a mist, frail, short, soon disappearing, and not even in our hands. So, we need to bracket the way we live and plan with this reality of the fragility and brevity of our lives.
2. God is Sovereign and we are not. So, all planning for the future should, not only be anchored in, ‘if the Lord wills’ but also should manifest that reality of the sovereignty of God. We cannot boast about tomorrow because the outcome of tomorrow is not in our hands.
3. God considers it presumptuous for anyone to think and act as if s/he can live and move and have our being independent of God. This boastful arrogance is the root of all sin, as was the case with Lucifer.

Please find attached the outline for Sunday June 6 for your review ahead of our adult Bible study.

 Key Learning Points should include:

1.      Prayer is a way of staying connected with God

2.      Jesus taught us that prayer is submission to the will of God

3.      Jesus’ prayers were wide-ranging both in scope and depth and continue forever – and this should serve as a model for us today.

I pray that God’s grace may abound to us as we grow in the ministry of prayer.

Jesus: His Life of Obedience https://victoriafellowshipchurch.org/jesus-his-life-of-obedience/ https://victoriafellowshipchurch.org/jesus-his-life-of-obedience/#respond Sun, 18 Apr 2021 17:00:38 +0000 http://www.victoriafellowshipchurch.org/?p=864 Read more…]]> Theme: The Life of Jesus

Please see attached outline for Sunday 18th for your perusal on lessons from Jesus’ life of obedience.

Key learning points should include:

  1. When obeying God creates a tension, obedience to God supersedes obedience to parents or to any other earthly authority.
  2. Obedience is something we grow in as we mature physically and mentally, just as Jesus did. And humility is vital to our growing in obedience.
  3. Obedience to God cost Jesus a lot but the benefits continue on to eternity. Likewise our obedience to God might be painful but leaves eternal rewards and benefits both for us and for others.

May we grow in our love for God and in obedience to His will.
