Brethren,

“I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!” These were the words with which the angel announced the birth of the Messiah on that first Christmas (Luke 2:10-11 NLT). That good news continues to be the one thing our world needs, even today.  What is this Good News? Why must it be proclaimed? What if we fail to proclaim it? Are some of the questions we shall be exploring during our Christmas Day Bible study under the topic ‘Proclaim the Good News.’

Key Learning points:
1. The good news is that the birth of God’s promised Son, Jesus Christ ushered in God’s rule of eternal peace, righteousness, and justice in the world.
2. The birth of Jesus Christ was and still is the ultimate good news and should be proclaimed to all mankind.
3. Proclaiming the good news is a command to all believers. Time is running out and so we must be earnest in proclaiming the good news, whether it is convenient or not.

How are you doing today? Hope your week is going well.

If there is one thing the world expects from believers, it is good works. So, our topic this Sunday, ‘Being good and exhibiting goodness’ cannot be overemphasized.

Key Learning Points:

1. Being good is an attribute of God which He bestows on His children, which now enables us to pay attention to the needs around us. Paying attention and seeing things from God’s perspective will always awaken compassion in us which inadvertently leads to good works.
2. The object of our goodness does not matter: Christian or people of other beliefs; male or female; Greek or Jew. We should exhibit goodness to all because God is good and does good to all (Psalm 119:68; 145:9). He sends rain both to the just and the unjust (Matthew 4:45).
3. There is no other way to be justified than by faith in the finished work of Christ and living in obedience to God. Our faith must be supported by exhibiting good works which have been prepared beforehand for us; for faith without works is dead.

We continue with our quarter series on Love- A more excellent way. The topic we are considering this time is ‘Love finds joy in doing good’ See attached outline for your reference.

Key Learning points include:

1.     Love that finds joy in doing good is decided, intentional and premeditated

2.     Since love comes from God, the ability to find joy in doing good has to come from God.

3.     There are obstacles to our efforts to grow a heart that delights in doing good. And we must be aware of those obstacles and strive to overcome them.
