Hello Brethren,

Happy New Year!

Please find our first study for the New Year and the first of our new Quarter Series: The Impact of Unsung Heroes in the Bible.  The study is on the topic Enoch: A Man Who Walked With God.  Our main texts are Genesis 5:18-24 and Hebrews 11:5-6.  The key learning points are as follows:

  1. Enoch was a man who walked with God so closely that God was pleased with him and took him to heaven without him first dying. Genesis 5:24
  2. Enoch teaches us that a strong faith walk is not conditional on a supportive environment.  Genesis 5:19, 6:5
  3. Enoch was a man of faith whose legacy is his testimony that “he pleased God.”  Hebrews 11:5

May the Word of God dwell richly in all of us this year.

1.    God holds our breath in His hand and owns all our ways.  He is to be feared and not mocked. Daniel 5:5,23.
2.    Secular wisdom can never provide answers for spiritual and eternal issues of life. Daniel5:8,11
3.    God is Sovereign over all nations of the world and His judgment is certain. Daniel 5:27-28,30

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Please find attached Bible Study Outline for 4 August 2024.  The topic is “God resits the proud” and the main text is Daniel 4:1-37.  This is the next topic in our Quarter Series on Living out our faith – a study of Danie

The key learning points are:

Key Learning Points
1.    The sin of pride is odious to God.  It was the first sin (Isaiah14:13). The mightiest king on earth will either learn, or be taught that only God’s kingdom is enduring, and He sets over kingdoms whom He chooses.  Daniel 4:1, 17.
2.    The consequences of unchecked pride can be devastating – the fall from pride brings not only loss but utter humiliation.  Daniel 4:32-33; Proverbs 11:2.
3.    Boastful pride is of the world (1 John 2:16).  God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.  If we do not humble ourselves, God will deal with us but His dealings have a redemptive purpose.  Daniel 4:34-37.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Please find attached the Bible Study Outline for Sunday 21 July entitled “Manifesting God In The Marketplace”.  This is the next in our Quarter Series on Living Out Your Faith – A study of the book of Daniel.  The main text is Daniel 2:24-49 and the key learning points are as follows:

1.    There is a God in heaven who reveals secrets.  He makes them know to whomever, He chooses. He is no respecter of persons  (Daniel 2:28)
2.    We are called to proclaim God in the “marketplace” where most of us, spend most of our time and to live lives of integrity that bear testimony to what we say of our God. We need to live in a manner that exalts Jesus, upholds His standards and brings glory to Him while not alienating the unsaved.  (Daniel 2:24,47, Philippians 1:10,11)
3.    As God honours us in the marketplace by making His presence known, we must be careful to give Him the glory.  (Daniel 2:30, Acts 3:12,16)

Good evening Brothers and Sisters,

I attach the second study in our Quarter 3 Series on Living Out our Faith.  The topic is “Trusting God Against All Odds and the main text is Daniel 2:1-23.

The key learning points are:

1.           It is God who gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.   He reveals secret things and knows what is in the darkness (Daniel 2:21-22).  Looking elsewhere is unbelief and a dangerous waste of time.

2.           Those who fear God need not fear the authorities over them even furious, vengeful kings.  They can be bold and act with counsel and wisdom because they serve a greater King (Daniel 2:14-16)

3.           God grants mercy to those who ask Him in faith (Daniel 17 -19; Hebrews 4:16)

Good evening everyone,

Please see attached the next study outline in this Quarter’s Theme of “The Foundation of the Christian Faith”  The topic is “ Reconciliation of Man to God”.  The main text is 2 Corinthians 5:16-21.

Key Learning Points

1.     God wants all men to be reconciled to Him. This is a free gift from Him, which means we don’t have to do anything to earn it but accept Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for our sin (vs 18, 19, 21)

2.     God has given us His disciples, the task of reconciling other men to Himself (v18-20)

3.     When we accept the gift of reconciliation to God through Christ, we become a new person (v16-18)

With kind regards

Good morning everyone,

Please see attached the fourth study outline in this quarter’s theme of “The Foundation of the Christian Faith” on the topic “God’s Promise of Redemption”.  The main texts are Romans 5:12-19 and Romans 3:21-26.

Key Learning Points:

1.     God’s promise of redemption was announced in Genesis 3:15, immediately after the fall, and has been fulfilled in Christ.   God had it all planned out long before the fall (Genesis 3:15).

2. As through one man’s offense judgment came to all man, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification (Romans 5:18).

3.     God’s promise of redemption has been manifested.  We have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ who died for the sins of the world. This redemption is available to whoever would confess Him as Lord and believe God raised Him from the dead.  Romans 3:23-25; 10:9

Good Evening Brethren,

I trust that this meets you well. Please find attached the outline for this Sunday’s Bible study on “Living Our Lives to Please God“.

In this study, we find that there are 101 excuses that we can come up with to not live a life of obedience to Christ; Tiredness, weariness, old age, body pains, sickness, worry, fear, anxiety, etc. But if we could put all those things aside, and let the Holy Spirit of God do His work in our hearts, Oh the life of Christ that will flow out of us!

Key Learning Points:

  1. The physical bodies in which we live has its weaknesses, limitations and challenges. But rather than be pre-occupied by those weaknesses, God wants us to live by faith, hopeful, courageous and confident that we will receive new heavenly bodies which God Himself has prepared for us. (v.1-3).
  2. Even though our earthly bodies are dying, our spirits should be renewed and increasing day by day, looking forward to being at home with the Lord. The Holy Spirit is the guarantee of this increase! (v.4-8)
  3. Regardless of whether we are in this body or not, God wants us to live a life that pleases Him and encourage others to do the same (v. 9-11).

May our hearts be stirred to daily live a life that pleases God.

Regards and God Bless!

God’s Abundant Mercy https://victoriafellowshipchurch.org/gods-abundant-mercy/ https://victoriafellowshipchurch.org/gods-abundant-mercy/#respond Sun, 23 Jul 2023 05:00:00 +0000 https://www.victoriafellowshipchurch.org/?p=1586 Read more…]]> The Power of God at Work in us

Brethren,

I trust this meets you well?

Have you been in a situation where you knew that your only hope was mercy? I have, countless times. And about mercy, we all know that God is merciful. But today’s topic is not just about God’s mercy, but His lavish (abundant) mercy!

Key Learning points:
1. God’s mercy is a mystery that many struggle to understand. (Romans 11:25)
o Mercy was part of God’s redemption plan from the very beginning.
o Even those we consider as innocent need God’s mercy (Genesis 39:21)
2. Salvation rather than being our right, is a product of God’s Mercy.
o All saved souls owe the debt of gratitude to God whose choice and decision has provided saving Grace for the believer.
o The salvation of Jews and Gentiles, alike, flows from God’s abundant mercy, not merit. It is an expression of God’s sovereign and generous grace.  Both Jews and Gentiles alike are guilty of disobedience and are both saved by God’s mercy (Romans 3:23; 11:25-32)
3. The abundance of God’s mercy can only be properly understood in Christ (Romans 11;33-36; Ephesians 2;4-6; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:3)

See attached outline for your further reference.

Your brother who has tasted God’s lavish mercy.

Brethren,

Hope this meets you well.

This Sunday, we shall be starting a new quarter. But the good news is that we shall continue with the theme we started in Quarter 2. And we kick off with a look at The Righteousness of God.

Key Learning Points
1. Two types of righteousness – the righteousness of man and the righteousness of God (Romans 10:3, 5; Philippians 3:9)
a. The righteousness of God is based on faith in Christ; whereas the righteousness of man is based on the law and works (human efforts)
b. The righteousness of God is a gift He gives (2 Corinthians 5:21); whereas the righteousness of man is an effort to earn God’s approval.
2. Christ is the only means by which anyone can receive God’s righteousness. (Romans 10:4; 3:22)
3. God’s righteousness is how anyone can be saved. Our faith in what God did when He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross and be raised from death is how we connect with God’s righteousness (Romans 1:17) “A righteousness that is by faith from first to last.”
a. Zeal for God without God’s righteousness cannot save anyone.
b. The righteous must live by faith; in other words, “The man who finds life, will find it through trusting God (Romans 1:17 – TLB)

Take it from me, the righteousness of God is far better than any righteousness anyone can work out for themselves. See attached outline for your further reference.

See you on Sunday.
