Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The attached is the latest in our Quarter Series on “The Impact of Unsung Heroes in the Bible.  The topic is Nicodemus and Joseph: Standing For Christ and our main texts are John 3:1-21, 7:45-52, and 19:38-42.  The key learning points are as follows:

1.      The Importance of Faith and Belief: Nicodemus’ journey from a secret follower to a bold defender of Jesus highlights the transformative power of faith. His conversations with Jesus, especially about being born again, emphasize the need for personal belief and spiritual rebirth.

2.      Uncommon Courage to Stand for Christ: Both Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea showed great courage in standing up for Jesus, even when it was risky. Their actions teach us the importance of standing up for our faith, even in the face of opposition.

3.      Acting with Compassion and Care: Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea’s act of giving Jesus a proper burial demonstrates compassion and care. Despite the potential consequences, he ensured that Jesus received a dignified burial. This teaches us the importance of showing compassion and care for others, even when it requires personal sacrifice.

Good evening Brothers and Sisters,

Please find attached the Bible Study Outline for Sunday 10 November on the topic: Serving each other as One Body in Christ.  This is the next topic in our Quarter’s theme on Living a life of sacrifice and service.  The main text is 1 Corinthians 12:4-26 and the key learning points are as follows:

1.      Our individual spiritual gifts and talents were given to us to serve each other in the Body of Christ (1 Cor 12:7)
2.      We are individuals, and our gifts vary (as do our personalities) but we are created to function as one Body in Christ ( 1Cor 12:12-20)
3.      Every believer has a spiritual gift from the Holy Spirit, and every gift, like everyone, matters.  Their gift is significant and needed for the Body to function. Discovering and using our gift to serve others is an act of love and a path to growth. (1Cor 12:21 -26; Romans 12:3-8)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Please see attached the next Bible Study Outline in our current Quarter Series on Strengthening our Faith.  The study is entitled “Modelling Christ”.  The main texts are John 13:34-35; Philippians 4:9 and 1 Peter 5: 2-3.
The key leaning points are as follows:

1.    The life of a believer ought to reflect the very life, nature and character of Jesus Christ. We should be an example to other believers and to the world of who He is.
2.    Love must be the distinguishing mark of Jesus’ disciples and should be demonstrated in our day-to-day lives and interactions with all men.
3.    As believers, our lives must continually be influenced by the things we’ve learned from Jesus, the things we’ve received through teaching and revelation, the things we’ve heard about, and the things we’ve seen Him do.

Good evening Brothers and Sisters,

Please see attached the Bible Study Outline on the topic “Rooted and Build up in Christ” which is the first in our Quarter 2 Series “Strengthening our Faith”.   The main text is Colossians 2:1-23 and the key learning points are as follows:

1.     When the believer experiences spiritual truth by living it, it becomes truly understood and leads to assurance of his or her salvation.

2.     Having a firm foundation for faith based on walking in Christ is imperative for a healthy Christian life.

3.     Like a tree with deep roots in rich soil drawing its nourishment, so the Christian is deep-rooted in Christ. He is the source of life, nourishment, growth, and fruit.

Be extravagantly blessed

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Please find attached the final study outline in our Quarter Series “the Foundation of the Christian Faith”.  The topic is “The Significance of Christ’s Resurrection”.  What better topic for the Sunday in which we remember that “Christ is Risen”!  The main texts are 1Corinthians 15:12-20 and John 11:25-27.  The key learning points are as follows:

1.     The resurrection of Jesus is at the core of the Christian faith.  Belief in the truth that Christ died and rose again assures the Christian that “though he may die, he shall surely live” – Jn11:25

2.     Christ’s resurrection validates and substantiates the Christian’s faith in Him – an empty tomb is there to prove it.

3.     To the Christian who is in a true relationship with Christ, is given, the power and grace to live a new life, free from the fear of death and from the sinful nature.

Good evening brothers and sisters,

Please find attached the latest Bible Study outline in our Quarter Series “The Foundation of the Christian Faith”.   The topic is Becoming a Disciple of Christ and the main text is Mathew 4:18-22 and Mathew 16:24-26.

Key Learnings: Becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ is the sure way to becoming a Christian, that is, a “little Christ”, “Christ-Like”. To become a disciple of Christ, Jesus Himself set forth the following conditions;

1.     A decision to deny self – my ambition, agenda, reputation etc.

2.     A decision to daily take up my Cross whatever the cost may be.

3.     A decision to follow Christ alone, not my denomination, Christian leader, mentor, or role model

Please find attached a study on the topic: “Christ, our Cornerstone” which is the next one in our Quarter’s Theme of “The Foundation of the Christian Faith.  Our main ext is Ephesians 2:14-22.

Key Learning Points:

1.     It is Jesus’ death on the Cross that reconciles both Jews and Gentiles to God, thus forming the universal Church – Ephesians 2:14-16

2.     Because of what Christ did on the Cross, both Jews and Gentiles can come to God through the same Holy Spirit – v. 18

3.     Without Christ, everything the Prophets and Apostles did mean nothing – v. 19-22

Brethren,

How has your week been?

Our quarter series is getting more interesting. This time we are looking at the first Adam and the last Adam and what benefits, or otherwise each brought to humanity. This comparison and lessons thereon is so important for the CHristian life.

The key lessons are outlined in the attache study sheet are:

1. Sin and its death penalty came to us because of Adam’s genes in us, not because of any acts of disobedience to any commands of God.
2. Whereas sin and its consequences are the result of one man’s action, God’s gift of life through Christ is entirely an undeserved gift from God, available only to those who receive the gift. So, believers must internalize this truth and be motivated to help as many as possible to receive this gracious gift of God.
3. God’s grace through Christ did more than cancel out the consequences of Adam’s disobedience. It also secured our good standing and declaration of innocence before God.

See you in Church on Sunday.

Brethren,

I trust you are well.

Welcome to Q3. Last quarter, we looked at servant leadership. This quarter, we shall be looking at Romans, as we explore the power of God at work in us. We need that power to live out the lessons from the studies on servant leadership. Our first topic for this quarter is The Gospel of Christ.

Key Learning points: include
1. The gospel is about God’s Son, Jesus Christ’s birth, death, and resurrection. (Romans 1:2-4)
2. The Gospel is the good news that God has revealed to us how we can be rescued from the wrath to come (Romans 1:17; 1 Thess. 1:5-10)
3. The Gospel is the power of God to save everyone who believes; therefore, we must believe it personally, preach it to ourselves daily and proclaim it boldly/unashamedly to the lost/dying world. (Romans 1:13-14)

Brethren,

This Sunday, we open our Q4 series on the theme ‘The World Eagerly Awaits Your Manifestation’

And as we will discover in the opening topic, ‘Manifesting Christ’, it is not only the world that eagerly awaits our manifestation. God does as well.

Key Learnings
To manifest Christ, we must:

  1. Imitate God and walk in love just like Christ did. This will require us to continue to renew our minds, which enables us to live in total submission and obedience to God just like Christ did.
  2. Follow up the daily renewal of our minds with a daily choice to living this new Christ-life, putting away all filth and uncleanliness and instead be filled with the Spirit
  3. Walk circumspectly – being careful to know what God wants, and to do that which pleases Him

See attached outline for your further reference and advance preparation.
