Key Lessons should include:

1.         God’s glory as an attribute is the consummation of all His other attributes. It is the infinite beauty and greatness of God’s manifold perfections.

2.         Everything God has made testifies to His glory. God wants His glory to be known, and like Moses, we need to behold God’s glory. A proper appreciation of God’s glory helps us to see how amazing and wonderful our God really is.

3.         Jesus Christ as the promised Messiah, and the manifestation of the glory means that our salvation though Christ is also a manifestation of God’s glory and He is coming again in power and glory to rule and reign forever.

Key Learning Points should include:

1.      The eternal attribute of God means He has no beginning or ending. There never was a time when He was not, and there will never be a time when He ceases to be. Man cannot use his understanding of time to define God’s eternal existence.

2.      The eternal attribute of God is what makes sense of His other attributes. In fact, all our treasured biblical doctrines and truths would collapse without the reality of an everlasting God.

3.      God’s eternal attribute is what anchors the believer’s hope of eternal life with God. This hope should shape our lives here on earth – we must live with eternity in view.

1.     God is pre-eminent in ways that the rulers and authorities of this world cannot even begin to imagine.

2.     The only logical and appropriate response to the pre-eminent God is worship.

3.     To properly understand God’s pre-eminent attribute, one must look at Jesus Christ. Jesus is the embodiment and complete manifestation of the pre-eminent attribute of God. For that reason, the salvation we have in and through Him cannot be matched nor can His Great Commission be nullified.

There are several passages referenced in the study. May I encourage those who may be leading the discussions on Zoom or in Church to kindly review all the passages. Afterwards, please note the ones you will like to emphasize so that you will not feel pressured to read all the passages, if you find yourself running out of time.

Key Learning Points
1. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of God’s throne. Everything God does emanates from this principle. Therefore every definition of righteousness and justice should flow from Him and not from our human understanding or from any human system. He is righteous, His work is perfect and all His ways are just.
2. God’s attribute of righteousness and justice demands that evil is punished and good rewarded. And He alone can set the standards for judgment

3. Jesus Christ is the ultimate demonstration of God’s righteous and just attributes when He set forth Jesus as a propitiation by His blood through faith, hence we are now justified by faith in Jesus. That is why not believing in Jesus for justification is perhaps the greatest sin in God’s sight.

May the word of God prosper in our lives and bear much fruit.

Key Learning Points should include:

1. That God is unchangeable does not mean that He can change but simply does not. It means that He cannot change. God was the same when He created the earth as He is today. He will always be the same, in all His perfections and glory, for all eternity.
2. God is true to His Word. So often, we put our hopes in the things and people of this world which let us down and pass away, but the Word of the Lord endures forever (1 Peter 1:25). Our Bible is not just another book on the shelf of history, but it is living, powerful and filled with promises made and promises kept to the letter. 2 Timothy 2:13 reassures us that “even if we are unfaithful, He will continue to be faithful, for He cannot deny who he is.
3. Whatever God says He will do, He will do. Therefore, when He says those who believe in Jesus shall have eternal life, you can rest assured that will take place. Just as sure is His providing a way out of temptation, protection from the flaming arrows of the enemy, and Satan’s eventual demise by being thrown into the Lake of Fire forever

Like the other attributes of God, the sovereign attribute of God is quite interesting, deep and wide. So, there are quite a number of passages referenced. They are not the only ones and are helpful for personal studies. But for those leading the group discussions, you may have to decide ahead of time which ones to read in your group.

Key learning points:

1.     Whereas the sovereignty of nations and monarchs are limited to their national boundaries, God’s sovereignty has no national, political, or racial boundaries – for He controls kings and is Lord over nations (Psalm 22:28, 72:11).  Scripture calls Him King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 17:14, 19:16).

2.     God’s sovereignty allows Him to do whatever He pleases. His sovereignty does not refute free will He has given man. So, we are free to make choices, but the consequences of those choices are governed by the Laws God has put in place, along with His other attributes.

3.     God’s sovereignty means assurance that HE will fulfill all His promises to His children; something to be grateful for. It also means that His judgment on those who reject Him will come to pass.

Let us praise the Lord for He is sovereign over all that He has made, in heaven and everywhere!!!

In this season of Valentine, how fitting it is to be looking at God’s attributes of love and faithful. See attached outline for your reference.

Key Lessons:

1.         Love is an essential part of God’s character. God loves because He is love. The controlling principle of the universe is not an abstract quality of love, as some erroneously imply, but that the sovereign God is the source of all love. We can know love and understand faithfulness only from the standpoint of God.

2.         Though love and faithful are God’s invisible qualities, He revealed them to us so that we may know Him. And there is ample evidence of these in and around us.

3.         Love and faithfulness are attributes of God which we should endeavour to emulate. We cannot love like that without first being born of God.

“And God gave us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.”

This Sunday, we shall be looking at what could easily be man’s most favorite attributes of God: merciful and gracious. See outline attached.

Key Learning Points include:

1.  God wants us to know that it is only on the basis of His grace and mercy that man can relate with Him.
2. God’s mercy and grace are mighty, great, unending, and inexhaustible. Along with these attributes of God, we also enjoy His patience (longsuffering), abounding goodness and truth, forgiveness.
3. In Jesus Christ, God reveals His mercy and grace to all men. Jesus through His death and resurrection has become the epitome of God’s mercy and grace.

Psalm 103:2

Last Sunday we looked at God’s omnipotence.  One lesson from it is that God’s unlimited power facilitates the expressions of His will in keeping with His other attributes. This Sunday, we shall continue our study on the Attributes of God with a look at His omnipresence. Key learning points should include:

1. There is no place in creation where God is not because God fills all creation. No matter where we go, there our God will be. He is not limited to only one place, so we cannot erect a barrier between ourselves and His presence. The barrier between God and us is not a barrier of space or time. To meet God, there is not a “where” to go or a “when” to occur.

2. Because God is everywhere, we do not ever need to stand in line or make an appointment to be with God. And anywhere we are in God’s presence, He is ALL there and giving us His full attention.

3. That God is everywhere means that His watchful eyes are on me 24/7, seeing me in whatever I may be going through and aware of whatever I may be experiencing. There is no place to hide from God. There is no corner of the universe where God is not. While we may not fully comprehend the full extent of God’s Omnipresence, we must be conscious of who He is and worship Him with reverence and godly fear.

May God fill us with a sense of His abiding presence.

KEY LEARNING POINTS

1.     The Omniscient attribute of God means that He knows all things, even things that are yet to materialize. He has perfect knowledge of all things. He does not have to learn anything, and He has not forgotten anything. God does not have to reason things out, discover things, or learn them gradually. God’s knowledge is infinitely incomprehensible.

2.     All the ways of men are bare before God that even our thoughts are words before Him. Because God knows all about us, when He says something futuristic about us, He is not making predictions like men would. Rather, He is simply stating a fact.

3.     David found the idea that God knows him perfectly as something comforting. God’s knowledge is a precious blessing to God’s people. Because God loves us, such deep knowledge of us should help us realize that He knows the right time, place, or thing for each of us. God’s knowledge of us is a good thing for His children but should terrorize the wicked – Psalm 139:17-18. The fact that He knows every detail of our lives should strengthen our faith in Him.
