Theme: The letters to the Churches: What is the Lord Saying to us?

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

 Please find attached the next Study in our Quarter Series on the theme: Letters to the Churches: What is the Lord saying to us?  The topic is  “The Church in Smyrna: Endure in Tribulation”.  The main text is Revelation 2:8-11, and the key learning points are as follows:

1. Jesus is the First and the Last.  He has conquered death for us and is in full control of every circumstance that confronts us. Revelation 2:8, John 11:35.
2. Do not fear: Jesus knows what confronts us.  If he allows it, we can endure it; we will not be tested beyond what we can bear.  Revelation 2:9-10, 1 Corinthians 10:13
3. Persecution is to be expected by every believer.  For some, it will be intense and may involve martyrdom.  We can all prepare for great challenges tomorrow by being faithful in small things today.  2 Timothy 3:12, Luke 16:10.
