I attach the Bible Study Outline for 15 September on the topic Seeking God Through Prayer and Fasting”. This is the next in our Quarter series on Living Out Our Faith – A Study of the Life of Daniel. The main text is Daniel 10:1-21 and the key learning points are as follows:
- As Christians, we are in a spiritual war whether we know it or not. Fasting and prayer are two of the most powerful weapons God has given us to win this war. Daniel 1:2; Eph 6:10-12, 2 Cor 10:3-5
- It is up to us to engage in battle, disciplining ourselves like good soldiers. Jesus expected His disciples to fast just as He expected them to pray. Daniel 10:12; Mathew 6:16
- We are to fast unto God, according to His purpose, in line with His character and in step with the Holy Spirit. This is the “fasting that the Lord chooses”. Isaiah 58:1-14
