Theme: Lessons From The Life of David
Brethren,
I trust this meets you well.
We continue with our quarter series on Lessons from the Life of David. We move, this time, from ‘God’s work, God’s way’, to ‘An Attitude of Gratitude’
In this study, David teaches us that a truly grateful heart is one which:
- Is completely surrendered to the sovereign grace of God; acknowledging that there is nothing we can do for God in our own strength. It is God who must accomplish great things through us, and very often despite us. There is no success that we can honestly claim as our own, for every true success is a gift of God’s grace
- Submits to God’s sovereign purpose. No matter how high and lofty our goals and plans may be, God’s plans are greater and better.
- Submits to God’s sovereign will. Our desire always should be to do the will of Him who sent us, even as Christ gave up His will so that the will of God may take preeminence. So let us seek to thankfully submit our will to God’s will, not only for our benefit but so that the Lord will be glorified by us and by others.
2 Samuel 7:18
