INTRODUCTION

Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness. It is generally a personal choice to uphold oneself to consistent moral and ethical standards. In ethics, integrity is regarded by many people as the honesty and truthfulness or accuracy of one’s actions.  Lets run some integrity test questions to see where we stand on the integrity scale by answering yes or no with reasons.

1   You are working on a project along with several other companies and you notice that one of the companies is doing shoddy, dangerous work. If you report the company, the entire project may be shut down and you will lose 70% of your revenues for the year. Do you report the problem? Why?

2   The taxi driver or the attendant at the filling station gives you a blank receipt after dropping you off or dispensing fuel. You are on an expense account. Do you write in the exact correct amount? Why?

3   You’re backing into a tight parking space in the car park and you accidentally dent someone’s car. Nobody has seen you. Do you leave a note taking responsibility? Why?

4   You are offered the option to buy a pirated new released movie in traffic for NGN500. You know it’s illegal. Do you buy it? Why?

5   You are not meeting your sales target. You know you are attractive and so does your prospective customer. Do you lightly flirt to get this major new account for your business? Why?

6    Your Son or Daughter came home with a long homework and needed to be submitted the next day. Do you solve the problem for them? Why?

7    The tax consultant gives a tax bill that you know you can’t pay. He asks you to settle. Would you? Why?

8   LASMA or the Police arrest you for an offence you know you committed, he ask you to settle to avoid been penalized. Would you? Why?

9   You have a gift in healing, singing or administration. You know the church is struggling in those areas. Would you offer to help without been told? Why?

10            Your politician friend rigged an election which you witnessed. Would you send a congratulatory note? Why?

11            You are a practicing Christian lawyer. A well known corrupt Politician comes to your chamber to defend him in a criminal case. Will you? Why?
